| MUTT
HAT AND MUTT MITTS by Leef
A great hat and
mitten pattern that is warm and cozy for those frigid and blustery winter
chill days. The hat has a long brim that folds into a double fold for extra
warmth around the head and ears. The ribbing is a 1x1 structure and fits
snugly. Better yet, the brim folds down to a full face mask to protect your
face and skin from winter wind. You can wear it over your nose and mouth or
pull it down below them. Very configurable and VERY warm!
The mittens are fingerless, and very warm. I hate a cold steering
wheel when driving and these are perfect! They can also be worn over a full
pair of gloves for extra warmth.
This pattern is
written for both the handspinner who likes to spin their own yarn and the
knitter who uses commercial yarns. It is sized for a
woman’s medium. However, any size
can be made. There are instructions at the bottom of each pattern on how to
change the size.
Great instructions and
photos, neatly placed in a plasti sleeve for your collection

TEXTURED HOODED COAT SCARF
by Leef Bloomenstiel
©2004
Have that special favorite coat scarf
without a hood? My favorite coat is a tailored leather suit jacket.
This coat scarf looks great for any occasion, both dressy and casual.
Not only does it take the place of keeping up with both
a hat AND a scarf, but it is warm and snuggly and very elegant looking.
It can be worn in many attractive ways. One size fits ALL.
With all the fashionable fur types of yarn out there,
you can have a BALL matching up wool and fur combinations. Plus, I
have included a version of this hooded scarf, without the fur bands, so you
can make it as plain as you want. I have chosen to write this pattern
using very popular and affordable yarns by Lion Brand; Wool-ease worsted
weight and Fun Fur yarn. My goal in writing this pattern is to give
you enough information and details, so that you can substitute ANY yarn
comfortably and knit this pattern with confidence.
Clearly written instructions, several pictures
in a notebook plastic sleeve.
USPS Priority mail shipping for 1 - 10 patterns is $3.85. Texas

MP3
POUCH KNIT/FELT PATTERN by Leef
I used to
get amused seeing people plugged into their portable sound devices. Little
did I know that I would become a “sound-toting plugged-in Grandma” at this
stage of my life!
I have always been an avid reader, but I have found that gradually,
over the years of spinning, weaving and knitting, I had not read as much as
I used to. My biggest discovery of the last couple of years is AUDIO BOOKS!
Now I can spin, weave, knit, dye, etc., and enjoy listening to wonderful
books AND music. These little MP3 players are absolutely WONDERFUL! It is
amazing how tiny they are.
The only problem I had with them initially was how to “wear” them.
Some are made for the gym crowd, and can be worn on a stretchy velcro
armband. Naaah, didn’t like that. The other option is the belt clip. I
rarely wear a belt, and even though you can clip it to a pant’s pocket, I
found that sitting down at my loom bench sometimes caused it to POP off.
Clipping it to a shirt pocket was better, that is IF you were wearing a
shirt WITH a pocket. SO, I decided that a handspun, hand felted pouch worn
over the shoulder, across the front to the opposite side at the waist would
do the trick… and it DID, beautifully!
This pouch is 4½ inches wide and 5¼ inches long. I designed it to
fit the largest players on down. I wanted a pouch that would not just hold
the player, but an extra battery, and would also hold your cords and ear
buds if you needed a place to put them, and still be small enough to be worn
comfortably.
It is a great way to use some fancy designer type yarns, as well as
your handspun. A good commercial substitute is given for purchased yarns.
You can have all kinds of fun making these! I expect these little players to
be big gift items, and what better accessory to have than one of these nifty
pouches!
Clearly written instructions along with photos in a notebook
plastic sleeve for your collection. USPS Priority mail shipping
for 1 - 10 patterns is $3.85. Texas residents add 6.25% sales tax.

BEAUTIFUL PATTERN FOR A HAND
KNITTED AND FELTED BAG WITH STANDARD 4inch HANDLE FLAPS FOR USE WITH 4inch
PURSE HANDLES
Knit this bag and felt it using handpun yarns or a commercial
substitute. It is written to aid the spinner in taking advantage of those
wonderful handspun yarns and gives a great commercial yarn substitute that
does beautifully as well. This is a gussetted bag, so it is nicely shaped
and holds items well. A small ball of glitzy type yarn can add interest
and sparkle. It is a fast knit on large needles, and the felting is fast
and easy. 4 inch handles can be found at any hobby and craft store in
bamboo, tortoishell, wood and other interesting materials. Never make the
same bag twice, as you can design and decorate as you please.
Easy written instructions in a plastic sleeve for your collection. USPS
Priority mail shipping for 1 - 10 patterns is $3.85. Texas residents
