FREE ONE HOUR SEMINARS
These are one hour events that
are designed to be "educational". No registration required, just show up!
They will be scheduled during the week and sometimes on weekends. Please
check the calendar for events listed as SEMINARS.
1. Come on Baby, Let's Do the Twist!
Explore twist in all its glory. Learn how twist affects our fabrics in
both good ways and baaaaad ways. Learn about the physics of twist energy
and how to "harness" its power. Once you understand it, learn how
to determine when enough is enough and some techniques for building
consistency..
2. Fibers, Up Close and Personal
Explore the microscopic world of fibers. Learn wool from the inside core
to the outside. We will make wet mounts of the various fibers and view
them under the microscope. How these fibers are made determines how they
behave when put into working projects.
3. Bead Knitting Simple beginner bead
knitting.
4. Clean Up That Wheel!
Bring your wheel and learn how to give it a thorough cleaning from bow to stern.
Makes for a great tune up and tightening of all those "loose" spots.
You will leave with a lean, mean spinning machine!
CLASSES for KIDS!
I teach several classes that are great for kids. They are educational
and are "hands on". Some are on fibers and some are on nature and involve
craft projects that are age appropriate. Check the calendar listings for
children's classes. If you would like to make a field trip out to the
farm, please call and schedule a visit and a program that is designed to meet
your needs!
